Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! Please reach out if you are interested. If my case load is full, I can add you to my waitlist. I also have several dietitian colleagues that I can recommend that might also be a good fit if you’re anxious to get started asap.
Do you take insurance? I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Regence, Providence, and PacificSource Commercial and Community Solutions (OHP) insurance plans. It is best if you call your insurance company before our first visit, to verify your outpatient nutrition counseling coverage and get an estimate of any out-of-pocket costs you might have. See my script for help or I’m also happy to call on your behalf.
Where are you located? I live in a different town/state - Can I work with you? I offer in-person appointments to those local to the Eugene, Oregon area. My office is located in south Eugene. I offer telehealth for those who require/prefer it.
How long will it take for me to heal my relationship with food? This I cannot tell you :) It depends on how long you’ve been struggling and each person will have a different process. Expect that it will take time for disordered behaviors to be mostly gone. Body image work, perfectionism, self-esteem, self-worth, and developing trust in yourself/your body can take longer.
Do you teach intuitive eating? Yes, I have been using intuitive eating principles for over a decade. However, I believe in a person-centered approach, so it is only one of the frameworks we might use in our sessions.
Can you make me a meal plan? I can provide you with meal and snack guidelines and structure but I will not tell you exactly what to eat. I have not found that approach helpful for my clients in the past given individual tastes, cooking abilities, etc. My goal is to help you feel confident enough around food that you no longer need strict rules or specific meal plans.
